Fender 2010 Standard Jazz Bass Reviews 5

Just picked up a Fender 2010 Standard Jazz Bass. The model hasn't changed too much through the years, I mean if it ain't broke why fix it?

My local music shop wanted to clear out the 2010 models, I walked out of the shop with this brand new for $359 with a gig bag.

This year Fender put the retro 70s logos on the standards and even a few of the American made series, the standard is still made at the plant in Mexico. The cool logo with a maple fretboard on a lake placid blue body gives it a classic look that looks great under lights. The neck is slim and feels great on my hands. The overall body weight is light. I can play this bass for 3 hours straight without any sort of fatigue.

The pickups do not have any unwanted noise, however they are just a little tame. Rather than dig them out and burn my fingers with a soldering gun, I use an Eden preamp to give the bass a little bit of a boost.

The body is alder and the neck is maple with a maple cap fretboard. Fender has redesigned the pickups. I mentioned above there is no unwanted noise, however then could use just a little more punch.

With any Fender I say hop in the car and play as many as you can and buy the best one. I did and I'm very satisfied with the current Standard Jazz Bass.
